LEADERSHIP TRAINING
NCBW provides opportunities for leadership and decision making positions in government, nonprofit organizations and the private sector.

COLLEGE FOR KIDS PROGRAM
Through educational resources, College for Kids develops an awareness of and thirst for knowledge of diverse career opportunities for its youth participants. Through the informative and captivating presentations by professionals, participants learn the nature of, significance of, and qualifications for various non-traditional careers. With the exception of one field trip, orientation and classes take place on college and university campuses.

COLLEGE FOR TEENS PROGRAM
College for Teens is a comprehensive youth development program model that is multi-faceted. It consists of:
• An after school tutorial and enrichment program
• A career development/mentoring and life skills program
• A summer college campus residency program
• C. Delores Tucker Study Abroad Program
• Shirley Chisholm Civil Rights Journey

COMMISSION FOR THE PRESIDENTIAL APPOINTMENT OF AFRICAN AMERICAN WOMEN
NCBW, through its Commission for the Presidential Appointment of African American Women, canvasses the United States to identify African American women to recommend for high-level policy positions within the Presidential Administration and creates a talent bank of highly qualified African American women for top political appointments. Be a part of creating future leaders.... Sponsor a Teen or Teens.

COMMISSION ON ENTERTAINMENT
NCBW, through its Commission on Entertainment, leads the assault against: Gangsta Rap"e; and misogynistic lyrics that are directed towards African American youth and threaten the moral foundation of the family.

WORKFORCE HOUSING
NCBW works to develop affordable housing for single women who are key to the workforce of every urban city. Many cannot afford to live in cities in which they work and must travel long distances to get to work. 10 years ago we first delved into housing concerns when we were able to secure a home for the Thompson quintuplets.

HEALTH AND CHILDHOOD OBESITY
Black women and children are at higher risk than others on health related matters like obesity, diabetes, hypertension, etc. We provide information on these subjects and teach prevention to parents and students in CFK and CFT, in public speeches and during our annual Brunch.

YOUNG AMBASSADORS PROGRAM
We work to involve and honor young people in our programs, and provide high visibility ways for them to participate in community service, to expand their horizons by arranging for them to meet potential mentors and citizens of high achievement. Young Ambassadors also share the work of NCBW with friends, neighbors and others.

DOMESTIC VIOLENCE
NCBW provides counseling and shares resources needed with women and children who are victims of domestic violence and abuse.

VOTER EDUCATION/REGISTRATION
NCBW provides information to women on issues impacting women and their families, and co-ordinates GOTV efforts. NCBW also encourages women to run for office and participate in election activities.

GREEN TEAM
NCBW provides opportunities for urban youth (and their families) to study, become aware of, and involved in preserving our environment.
